Outreach
Lancaster University regularly holds visits to various schools all over the UK as well as welcoming school and college students on to campus for our tailored events.
We are interested to meet our future students and hope to be able to kindle an interest in chemistry in school students around the country.
Students are given a tour of our 360 acre campus, including facilities such as the Library, Learning Zone and College social spaces, as well as having the opportunity to speak to current students.
The Department of Chemistry runs one-day masterclasses for schools, including a talk from one of our academics and a tour of our campus and cutting-edge facilities.
Masterclasses
A day at Lancaster University giving students the opportunity to tour the department, experience a lecture in current research provided by an academic, complete a lab based activity and analyse chemicals as required.
Roadshow
Bring the magic of chemistry to your school with an interactive demonstration lecture. Presented by our outreach team, this year the theme is "What has Chemistry ever done for me?"
Work Experience
For students, experiencing working life in an environment of their choice can provide life changing insights and develop unique skills sets.
STEM club support
We have in the department trained and DBS checked STEM ambassadors who can arrange visits to your school, organise for some of your students to visit the university.
Competitons
Join in our video or anayaltical challenges. Show off your love for chemistry, and win prizes.
