Study Abroad

An attractive feature of Lancaster's Natural Sciences scheme is the possibility of spending one year of your degree abroad. This could be in Canada, USA, Australia or New Zealand.

Since the studies abroad count towards your final degree classification, you take courses which fit into Lancaster's scheme of study. The vast majority of our students who have been on the exchange programme have thoroughly enjoyed the experience and benefited from it greatly. Indeed, many students are reluctant to return home!

Lancaster University has had many years of successful experience with the USA-Canada student exchange programmes. The University as a whole has exchanged students with over 200 North American institutions.  We have recently expanded our exchanges to include universities in Australia and New Zealand.  I recent years Natural Sciences students have attended the following universities:

  • University of Colorado
  • University of Illinois
  • McMaster University
  • Michigan State
  • Oregon State University
  • University of British Columbia
  • Texas A & M
  • University of Iowa
  • University of Miami
  • Univeristy of Florida
  • University of Western Ontario
  • Macquarie University
  • Queensland University of Technology
  • Victoria University of Wellington

These universities all have the range of degree subjects to fit in with our degree schemes and their courses are pitched at the correct academic level.
