Facilities

The School is housed within the University’s iconic InfoLab21 building – the region’s leading centre for ICT research and commercial innovation.

Labs

Our students are equipped with 24 hour access to our five dedicated undergraduate labs, 10 Gbps external internet capacity, free campus wide WiFi.

In order to further support our teaching, constant open access to our 96 processor 1.5 TB RAM virtualization cluster and free access to Microsoft software through Dreamspark Premium and custom built hardware will ensure that you'll never feel short of technical resources!

Software Design Studio

Our Software Engineering and Design Studios provide students a space to work intensively on conceiving, designing and developing software products.

Teaching is provided with an emphasis on practical experimentation and hands-on work, and the spaces are fitted with amenities allowing students to work in groups for extended periods of time. Our studios have received outstanding feedback from students who have used them.

Knowledge Business Centre

Our Knowledge Business Centre promotes knowledge transfer between our academics and business, and maintains links with over 500 companies.

These extensive connections allow us to offer a wide range of industrially focused services to undergraduate students, such as industrial projects, organised industry placements, summer internships and short term paid consultancy work to assist with your living expenses.
