PhD Scholarships

We have a number of fully funded PhD scholarships on offer for the 2016/17 academic year, including 40 funded industry-focused PhDs for 2016/17 and 40 industry-focused PhDs for 2017/18 entry.

The Faculty of Science and Technology is made up of seven departments engaged in world-leading research that makes a significant contribution to the economy and society. Our scholarships provide full tuition fees, a generous stipend and access to a research training grant.

UK/EU and overseas

Applicants have the opportunity to apply for Faculty funded scholarships, where you will be matched up with the relevant expertise from across one or more of our departments.

UK/EU

Applicants may wish to apply for an externally funded scholarship, offered by prestigious research councils such as the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC), the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) and the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC). These specific scholarships provide researchers with the opportunity to work with the established STOR-i and Graphene NOWNANO Dotoral Training Centre, be part of the NERC funded Envision Doctoral Training Partnership or to work in the newly created STARS Doctoral Training Centre.
